Democracy, peace and social justice
Our Democracy, Peace, and Social Justice (DPS) programming focuses on amplifying local and indigenous voices for democracy, addressing the underlying causes of conflicts, and advocating for social justice across Africa. Our key interventions include:
- Knowledge for Peacebuilding Project: This project seeks to build a repertoire of knowledge on conflict, state fragility, and emerging PeaceTech. It emphasizes on the increasing role of CSOs and Gen Zs in catalyzing change.
- Voices and Accountability: Ensuring that the voices of marginalized people, indigenous communities affected by conflicts and disasters, are included and considered in national dialogues and at regional (ECCAS, ECOWAS, etc) and continental (AU) policy making spaces.
- Early Warning and Sensitization: We are committed to proactively identify potential sources of conflict or violence in communities, countries, or regions and initiate or support timely action to prevent their escalation, as well as raising awareness among relevant stakeholders.
- Partnerships for Social Justice: Building strategic alliances and partnerships with CSOs, think tanks, academic institutions, government agencies, private sectors, and international organizations to secure and allocate resources essential for achieving shared social justice goals.
